We stayed at this amazing property for a little over a week. It’s the perfect home base for day trips to various cities, from Monaco to St. Tropez. The location is close to shops, restaurants but still felt like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle. It’s is even better than the pictures.
The spectacular views and multiple balconies were breathtaking. We particularly loved the little olive tree on the porch and the stunning French Doors. The host, David, was incredibly kind and easy to communicate with. He provided a very thorough information packet that included recommendations, clear instructions on using various appliances, and the history of the villa.
The strong air conditioning was a lifesaver in the hot weather, and the bed was extremely comfortable. One thoughtful touch was the cooler picnic backpack, which we used for a few outings.
The home felt very safe, situated in a gated neighborhood, and the parking included was a big plus.
A couple of minor things to note: while there is a washing machine, there's no dryer, so you’ll need to hang dry your clothes—but there were plenty of hangers available.
Also, we occasionally ran out of hot water in the shower, but it was a small inconvenience in an otherwise perfect stay. Overall, we highly recommend staying here.
The home exceeded our expectations in every way, and it was the perfect place to relax and recharge in the French Riviera.
Response: Thank you Aliza for your fabulous review! For the water, it is on a timer and it could have easily been changed to stay on for longer. Generally, most of our guests stay in the summer where drying your washing outside is th norm. However, we have made a note about not having a clothes dryer and we hope to add one this winter.
Best regards
David & Sally

This property is a wonderful place, my wife and I had a marvellous 10 days here. The villa is truly a home from home and we both felt very comfortable; the view from the balcony is brilliant. The villa is positioned in a convenient, quiet location, where we used it mostly as a base for days out. On days in, the terraces were put to good use sun bathing, with the communal pool only seconds away, if you want to go for a dip. All in all an excellent, restful stay.Julie & Kasper July 2024
It was a pleasure to spend our summer holiday in David’s villa. It is PERFECT for a couple and has everything you need. The location is great and the view spectacular. All the best recommendations from us.Finja May 2024
We had a lovely time staying at David and Sally's place. The information in advance is very detailed and helpful. Questions and messages were answered super quickly. Check-in is super easy and well described.
You have to get used to the road conditions. We like to explore the area on foot and sometimes felt unsafe here, as there are no footpaths and the curvy roads are very narrow. By car you can quickly get to the mountains or to the beach.
The terrace with the view is indescribably beautiful and also the pool was great. You can really relax here and the apartment is so spacious and homely that you feel right at home.

We spent about a week here over Christmas. The surrounding town was mostly free of tourists and very charming, and we also enjoyed drives along the coast. The apartment was exactly as described and David was very helpful in assisting with booking reservations and offering suggestions.

We came to St Paul de Vence for a week to prepare for a larger family gathering. Villa Olivade was the perfect spot for that. It was quiet and well appointed. The owner had thought of everything and was available by text to answer questions. We highly recommend this charming villa.Michael December 2022
David is one of the most conscientious and attentive hosts I have ever had in an Airbnb. The 50 page house book is indicative of the care he takes to make his guests happy. The location is superb, the views sensational, and the house has all the comforts of home. An altogether pleasant experience.Jana August 2022
Eine kleine gemütliche Ferienwohnung mit sensationellem Blick, bestens ausgestattet! Der Pool war super zum Schwimmen und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit.Amanda July 2022
We had a marvelous time at David's place, everything was great from the location, the comfort of the house and the view. David was wonderful to work with, he was always available to answer questions to make our stay more comfortable. The house was very clean, lovingly appointed with a very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Kitchen had all the necessary supplies (except we couldn't figure out the cooktop!) and David had kindly left us some goodies to enjoy. Also the pool was lovely to cool off in the hot afternoons. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property!Raymond May 2022
I highly recommend staying at Villa Olivade! A charming villa with all the amenities and a spectacular view. A balcony and two large and private terraces allowed us to fully enjoy being outdoors. Also a community pool located nearby was appreciated on a hot day! Walking distance to the old town. I would definitely stay at this great spot again.Robin October 2021
A wonderful holiday in the perfect property in a perfect location with all day sun and breathtaking views. Cannot fault any of it and we will be back for sure. David was extraordinarily helpful, nothing was too much trouble. St Paul de Vence has to be one of the most special villages in the world. We will be back and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending David and Sally’s home to anyone.Manoek May 2021
Lovely place for a few sunny days at the Cote d’Azur, especially location-wise. David and Sally are kind hosts and are quick on their toes to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Translation: The location and the view of the property are really to be recommended. The garden with the terraces is a great way to relax after the days out. The apartment was clean and decorated in your own style - the bed was super comfortable. In the kitchen a cupboard door raked here and there - but it was fully equipped. The owners are super friendly. Quick answers at any time and detailed tips that go far beyond just information about the house and the booking. We would come back anytime. We didn't miss anything.

I would thank you and Sally-Anne for the wonderful week we spent in Villa Olivade.Me and Claudia had a good time; the weather was fine and always sunny (with the exception of a quick raining time while we were visiting Vence) and we discovered Saint-Paul-de-Vence surroundings, Nice, Antibes, Cap Ferrat and Menton. Villa Olivade was a very quiet and nice place to stay, everything was well organized, and easy to find and use. So...bravi, bravi, bravi!!! (as we say in italian).

Perfect Holiday
We are just back from 2 ideal weeks at Villa Olivade and still very enthusiast. Booking the villa was very easy as David and Sally-Anne have been very informative, helpful and always quick to respond to any question or request. The location is ideal if you want to visit the region…..Antibes, Monaco, Menton, Eze, Tourettes sur Loup, Nice…..etc. The elevated position of Domaine de Piol gives an amazing sea and mountain view. The villa is very well furnished and everything is there to have a comfortable stay. The share pool, very clean and quite, is only 1 min walk from the villa We thoroughly recommend Villa Olivade if you are looking for perfect holiday in a charming place

Wonderful Villa
We had a wonderful stay in the villa, which has superb views and fantastic amenities. David was excellent in responding to our initial enquiry, answering our questions etc and gave extremely useful information about the area and restaurants to visit. We would definitely love to return and have already recommended Olivade to our friends. Many thanks David and Sally Ann!

Good quality accommodation with a priceless view!
We book 2 or 3 rental properties a year in different places, however an annual trip to the South of France has become established these last few years. We usually find it difficult finding a good quality property for 2, with outside space and a pool, and often end up having to book (and pay for) a larger property than we need. Domaine du Piol has been a real find - this is our 4th stay, and our second in Villa Olivade. This is our favourite due to the open space it provides on 3 levels as it’s built on a hillside, with 180° views to the south and west so it gets the sun on one of its terraces all day. The villa itself is furnished well and everything is provided. There’s every kitchen utensil to cater a gourmet meal, although our holiday cooking is more of the cold meat/cheese/salad/baguette supper after a nice lunch in one of the excellent restaurants nearby. Then it’s lovely sitting on the balcony with a glass or two of wine watching all the lights come on and the stars twinkle. The bedroom is also well furnished, with a very comfortable bed, and plenty of storage for clothes etc. The communal pool is very large and well kept. In late July there were only a few people in there; we’ve also been in August when it was a bit more crowded but still able to find a couple of spare sunbeds. I’m sure we’ll be back.

A Beautiful Villa: Stunning Unique Location
We recently returned (reluctantly) from an eleven-night stay at the fabulous Villa Olivade. We fully experienced perfection in every way, I’ve immediately booked to return later this summer, that rather sums up the quality of our experience there, (it is understandably very popular, so book early to avoid disappointment). The villa is beautifully appointed with three levels of outdoor space facing south & west; therefore it benefits from full day sun (but with shady options should you prefer). Uninterrupted views from the Domaine’s unique elevated position reach all the way to Antibes and the mountains to the west. We did walk around to get a feel of the other villas we had seen available for rent on the Domaine, amazing views from all aspects, but none compared to the views from Villa Olivade, it truly is one of a kind, the brightness, the airy, open, refreshing feel in spite of the heat is wonderful.
The villa has everything you could possibly need. The rooms are bright & spacious, a beautifully appointed bathroom, plus an additional WC off the bedroom space. The kitchen is large, thoroughly equipped with new appliances; the extensive large work surfaces were super for food preparation (even by two people). The addition of a second larger fridge/freezer in a secure store on the terrace was totally appreciated (it minimalised the need for multiple supermarket trips).
The store also houses an excellent bike for your use and secure storage for your own bike should you wish to bring one (speak to David about that!). David & Sally-Anne are fabulous hosts, utterly helpful and informative, always available and quick to respond. They provide a comprehensive information pack before you arrive. David & Sally-Anne have lived in France for many years, you have the privilege of their experience, they truly are a source of all knowledge over there.
We chose not to hire a car, as we wanted to stay local to the area on this trip. We met with Lionel (David’s taxi recommendation); he was lovely, charming & punctual. For long or very short trips we would strongly suggest using Uber, very efficient, smart cars with good availability. Economic to use, Nice airport to the villa 28e, St Paul to the villa 6e.
There are many excellent restaurants in the area (do your research before you arrive as the most popular require advance booking). Our favourites were (as in the past), La Colombe d’Or (we book three months in advance), Le Tilleul, Alain Lorca.

This property has everything you could wish for and more!
This is our second visit to Les Olivades. The property has a rustic feel with every modern convenience. We immediately feel at home as soon as we arrive. The rooms are airy and beautifully furnished. The kitchen has every appliance that you could possibly require. The views from the terrace are stunning. The outlying villages are some of the best in Provence, their restaurants and cafes first class. We will be back next year!

Beautiful villa with spectacular terrace views!
We had a perfect one week stay in this villa. One of the best features is the large French doors in both the living room and bedroom that let you soak up views of the Mediterranean Sea, mountains and lush landscape. There even is a big window in the kitchen with its own sweeping view! We really enjoyed having morning coffee on the balcony and wandering down to the lower terraces with a glass of wine at sunset. You feel like you are perched on a cliff overlooking the South of France...because you are!
The interior is spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is very large with high-quality appliances and all the equipment you need to whip up an omelette or a gourmet meal. The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and plenty of closet and storage space. Bathroom is beautiful with Italian marble topped double vanity, blue and cream French tile work, and a good shower. (There’s also a second half-bath.) The living room has plenty of seating and a television set up to get several English-speaking channels like Sky News, BBC, and CNN. This villa is very private and secure. It is within a nice gated community, built on a hill and filled with unique stone homes. We didn’t use it, but the shared pool looked crystal-clear and was only a minute away. Make sure you check out the view of St. Paul de Vence and the mountains from the parking area! Perfect place for a great “selfie”! Working with the owners was very easy. David sent us lots of info ahead of time and has directions for EVERYTHING in a kitchen drawer, in case you might have a question. He even recommended and made reservations for us at La Colombe d’Or, a historic restaurant with a superb collection of art by Picasso, Miro, Calder, and other greats. It was a highlight of our vacation! It really was difficult for us to leave this villa at the end of our stay. What a great find!Review submitted by Anne F: 14 March 2018 Date of Stay: 25 Feb 2018

Utter bliss!
After a really busy year we were looking forward to a relaxing holiday and we weren't disappointed! As soon as we arrived at Les Olivades, we felt completely at home. The facilities, decor and general ambiance were all that we had hoped for. Although we knew the area quite well we decided to visit the tourist office in St. Paul de Vence. I wanted to know when the local markets were held! We spent our mornings visiting beautiful hill top villages such as Mougins and Biot to name a couple. We usually had lunch out and as David recommended, the Café de la Place in St Paul does a very good Plat du Jour. Then back to the villa to relax, read and snooze. If anyone wishes to visit the Colombe d'Or I would advise reserving a table before your holiday. They were completely booked for lunch and dinner for three weeks! We did go for drinks one evening and were able to view the art collection. Our evenings were spent mainly sitting on the terrace with a bottle or two of wine, some pâte and cheese and the view. The villa was everything we could have wished for and more. We will be back! Val and Mike

Beautiful apartment with stunning views
We spent two very comfortable weeks at Olivade. David could not have been more helpful with suggestions as to where to go and what to do and provided clear information about the apartment, arrival was completely stress free. We had everything we needed. We had intended to eat out more in the evenings but the apartment was so agreeable that we did so only a handful of times. The balcony and terrace were lovely and felt very private, there is a lot of outside space which suited all times of the day and requirements. We slept soundly and despite the heat didn't feel the need for the air conditioning - we used it only a handful of times when we got back after a long hot day touring around. There seemed to be a cooling breeze most evenings which was lovely. We had a small car (which we were grateful for with all the narrow roads) and visited a great deal inland and along the coast, there is so much to see and do! We would highly recommend Olivade and would definitely return.

Happy Holiday
A perfect hideaway for two. The property is perfectly located for visits to St. Paul de Vence, Nice and the surrounding area and is fitted with everything we needed, especially an excellent air conditioning system and King bed (not common in France). There are several other properties in the Domaine, but we enjoyed complete privacy. The large heated pool was a joy, especially at breakfast and evenings when we often had it totally to ourselves. On the rare occasions we had questions, the owner David was responsive and informative. The level of service he gave on email was impeccable and friendly. We hope to go back and enjoy this beautiful and tranquil oasis in the future.

The perfect spot for a romantic getaway
What a great week! The villa was exactly as described, with everything my wife and I needed to enjoy our time there. We didn't want to stay in the middle of everything in one of the beach towns, and we thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor space and mountain views while being close enough to easily head to any beach area we wanted. Since we got home, I've been missing our daily breakfasts overlooking the magnificent vista. Thank you David and Sally!

Beautiful location
We spent a wonderful week at this comfortable well-equipped location with a magnificent vista. We did not have a car but fortunately met Lionel Merle at the owner's recommendation who was a wonderful tour guide. He was always exactly on time and had an enormous amount of knowledge about the history and beauty of the area. David was always available and helpful by email or phone--a superb host!

Stunning vistas--charming space, perfect location
Kathy and I recently stayed for 2 weeks at Villa Olivade. It was a perfect choice to explore and experience the French Riviera. The photographs on the website are entirely accurate in their description. Yet they do not capture the feeling of the space; the beautiful morning and evening skies with the broad horizons available for view from the bedroom and the living room. The location is ideal for exploring the coast both east and west--as we did, from Menton to Saint-Tropez. And it is close to so many charming hill towns and villages, from nearby St. Paul de Vence to Vence, to Gourdon, Mougins, Biot and so many more. The trip to the Gorge du Verdon was exceptional. Careful driving on weekends, as cyclists by the hundreds will share the road with you. David and Sally have made the space warm and inviting. And they are truly wonderful hosts--extremely responsive and engaging, seeking to ensure those who have the privilege of sharing their villa will have a memorable experience. We will always treasure the two weeks we stayed in Villa Olivade. We highly recommend that you seek out this treasure as well. Henry & Kathy--London, Canada

Beautiful villa with a gorgeous setting above countryside and sea
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Olivade in early March. It is the perfect holiday home, comfortable and charming, perched high above the landscape with views of the Mediterranean. David was such an excellent and helpful host, and provided many details about the villa and the surrounding area. The kitchen was equipped with every possible tool for preparing occasional meals -- such as just-caught fish from Cagnes-sur-Mer and local markets. The supremely comfortable bed, lovely linens, large towels, and bathrobes were elegant. Sitting outside on the various terraces amongst flowering plants, rosemary, and olive and pine trees was a treat, and the weather was warm and sunny. We enjoyed day trips to Menton, Eze, Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Tourrettes-sur-Loup, and a short ferry ride to Ile Saint-Honorat. Lunch on the patio at La Colombe d'Or and a visit to the Fondation Maeght were a festive end to the week. A lovely visit!

Just fantastic
We received a wonderfully complete brief about the villa before we left the UK. The villa was exactly as described, quiet with brilliant views all around. Internally it was spacious, light, well equipped and a joy to be in. The locality was an ideal base for tours inland or down to the coast. We thoroughly recommend the villa and the helpful owner; can't wait to revisit.

The property is very good located close to the sea and the amazing and beautiful village Saint Paul de Vence. The apartment is very classic designed in a provinçal style. There is everything what is needed to spend a comfortable holiday including full equipped kitchen, spacious living room and cozy and charming bedroom. There are two levels of terraces which let us to choose the most appropriate place for relax. The most amazing views from the balcony near the living room and the bedroom gave us an additional incentive to drink early morning coffee or the glass of wine at the evenings. It was very relaxing and soothing.
In the village Domaine du Piol is located very large swimming pool dedicated to common use but very quiet. We could relax and sunbathing between sightseeing the Provence. This part of Provence is beautiful. There are so many interesting places we visited during our stay especially the the Town of artists Saint Paul de Vence which is located very close to the property.
I recommend the property to any other visitors. It worth the money we have spent for sure.

My husband and I stayed here on a vacation to the French Riviera. The home is the perfect size for two people with a large bathroom and lovely kitchen with all the amenities you need. The highlight is the terrace. We enjoyed all of our breakfasts overlooking the sun spill across the valley and farm land and several homemade dinners sitting out under the stars. The space is clean, the bed is SO comfortable and white, the windows offer in so much light and view. What a magical place. We will hold this home in our memories and hearts forever. An excellent location bordering on the Southern Alps with a stunning view towards the Mediterranean. Local facilities within a few minutes drive as well as historical location of St Paul de Vence just a stone's throw away. The villa was very well provided for including Internet and lots of local information. The owners were particularly helpful to us as keen cyclists and advised us in some detail about routes and local attractions. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone wishing to visit the Nice and Monaco region.

"Perfect house, perfect location, perfect service"
If you're looking for a charming, immaculately maintained small house close to the French Riviera but far enough away from its congestion to enjoy the vistas and the nearby mountains and their perched villages, the Olivade at Domaine de piol is the ticket to a perfect holiday. The charming house has every convenience in small, pampering its guests with sumptuous bed linens, slippers, robes, soft towels. But its best feature is its location perched on a hill above the Riviera, with views of the mountains, the distant sea, the fields and holiday homes in an undulating landscape. Oh, and did I mention the sunsets?
Our host was attentive, informative, responsive to each query, helpful at every turn. There is so much to do in the vicinity. St. Paul de Vence is a 5 minute drive up the road, with restaurants, cafes, shops, and best of all, twisting medieval streets. The drives in the mountains are a bit hair-raising and worth the thrill of spectacular views. More perched villages beckon. And within an hour the other way you can be in Monaco, or grab lunch in Italy. After such rich diversions, it's still a pleasure to come back to the villa, stretch out on the terrace lounge, or cook up a light dinner to eat on the balcony while you watch the sun set.
There is no better view than the one out the French doors of the living room and also the bedroom. The house and environs is everything it is written up to be and perhaps even more. We were there in the spring. The weather was sunny and warm, but not warm enough yet for the pool. Still, it's hard to believe summer could improve upon the time we had. A happy sojourn awaits anyone who stops here.

"Exceptional"
We are just back from our stay at villa olivade. It is in a great location with great views of the coast and a short walk to the picturesque village of St.Paul de Vence. The villa is kept very well. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need. All the information provided to us before our stay was very useful and informative. The bed was very comfortable and we were very impressed at how charming the villa was. I really enjoyed my stay at villa olivade and would agree with the other reviews that it is in a safe and secure complex with other villas. I hope to return next summer.

"Superb villa with stunning views"
An outstanding villa within a private gated community provides an exceptional spot to relax and unwind. Set amid fantastic countryside, the extensive and pleasing scenery is surpassed only by the exquisite backdrop of St Paul de Vence yet a 10-minute drive, and you are at the beach. The owners were particularly helpful prior to and during the holiday and provided detailed knowledge of restaurants and places to visit which were as good as, if not better than, described. I rarely offer feedback as I expect value for money but felt compelled to write about a truly exceptional villa and location. We hired a large scooter to explore the mountains surrounding the villa but felt equally relaxed on the Villa's terraces and balcony. The generous and warranted reviews by former guests proved an accurate description of a villa with commanding views. It was well equipped and was within 2 kilometres of two large supermarkets. A perfect retreat either for those wishing to lose themselves in the serenity of the hills or for a family wanting to be located next to a great pool or within a short drive of the beach. We will be returning next year.

"Location, location, location!"
You won’t find a better place for a self catering holiday. The villa is so close to the buzz of the Cote d'Azur in Cannes and Nice but in a quiet oasis. The views from Villa Olivade are absolutely stunning and the pictures do not do it justice. The villa has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We ate in more times here than we usually do because of the views from the terraces.
We are golfers and found some really good golf courses nearby which weren't too extortionate. After a good (and warm) round of golf we loved going back to St Paul de Vence for a beer and glass of rose in the Café de la Place to watch the guys play boules.
The walk into St Paul de Vence was as stated in the details as a leisurely 20 minute walk and whilst uphill it wasn't too onerous even in the heat. The only warning I would give is that it is quite a tight windy road and the traffic can travel fast but David provided a torch for when it’s dark which I would definitely recommend you use it so the traffic can see you if you are walking home late.

"A lovely villa in a beautiful location - perfect place to unwind and relax"
We stayed at the Villa Olivade for a week in July this year and what a beautiful place it is!. Nestling in the hills with amazing views all the way to Antibes, it has the feeling of being secluded yet not isolated. It is possible to walk to St Pauls de Vence town in 20 minutes, or just relax on the balcony, prepare your own meals and listen to the crickets at night. Its a perfect base for exploring the Cote d'Azur. The villa is extremely clean, comfortable and very well equipped and decorated. It's also very spacious with plenty of living area, with modern bathroom and kitchen. The pool was lovely, and not too busy. We will definitely be going back again.

"Perfect in every way!"
My husband and I stayed in this villa for the first week in June and we were thrilled with our choice. It was beautiful and bright and contained everything you would need to make it feel like home. The views from 4 private decks were absolutely spectacular and were situated perfectly for practically every time of day! It was about a 15 minute walk into St. Paul - a charming town with lots of galleries and great restaurants. After walking most days for hours, we often drove to the town for dinner and parking was free after 8. St. Paul de Vence is an excellent base for day trips to Nice (20 minutes), Antibes, Eze, Monaco to name a few. The owner, David, was in contact by email when we had a question and offered us numerous suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing. Everything was perfect and we would highly recommend this accomodation.

"Relaxing holiday at Olivade"
We spent a very enjoyable few days at Olivade in October, we found the villa easily thanks to David's very good directions, and everywhere was very clean and tidy. The views from the balcony and the lower terrace are spectacular, we could have spent all our days just sitting there with fresh crusty baguettes, cheeses, pate and a bottle of wine, but decided to explore the surrounding area as the weather was still warm and sunny. St Paul de Vence itself is about a 20 minute walk away with some very nice bars and restaurants, so we were able to eat and drink there some evenings without having to drive (although we took a torch with us for the stroll home again at night). As the kitchen is well equipped, we decided to cook at the villa a couple of times to enjoy the fresh food that we picked up locally. There is also a swimming pool on the domaine, just a couple of minutes walk away from Olivade, which we didn't make use of during our stay but I'm sure would be most welcome in the very hot weather. The domaine itself is a very peaceful place, we hardly saw another person while we were there, it was easy to park the hire car outside the villa, and everywhere felt very safe because of the security gates at the entrance to the domaine. David and Sally-Anne had left information on the local area, plus instructions as to how everything in the villa worked, and also David's phone number if you need to speak to him. All in all a very relaxing break, and we would have no hesitation in going back again for a repeat visit!

"Villa Olivade was fantastic!"
We spent the last week of June here. It was perfect. The owners have paid attention to all the details and genuinely want their guests to enjoy their stay at Villa. This is a comfortable villa, both private and yet open, simultaneously. It has a flexible and expansive living space both inside and outside, with 3 levels outside (upper balcony and two lower areas with chaise lounges, cushions, pergola, table and chairs, lots of plants). But it’s the views from each area that we loved! The upper balcony was our favorite (but we made good use of them all). It was great to have the outside spaces (because the weather is gorgeous), and each area is private -- we hardly saw a soul during our entire stay.
The interior furnishings were quite nice. The owners have created a very comfortable, tasteful, and liveable space for guests. Posters and artwork on the walls, and a nice overall ambiance. French doors/windows in every room that open up to awesome views, and allow the breezes and light in. There's A/C if you should need it (we didn't), as the villa stays quite cool. Flat screen TV, surround sound stereo (which we were too busy to use). There's also wifi, and David provides directions for how to access/use everything.
The bedroom has a comfortable King-size bed, french windows that open to the balcony and beautiful views, ample space in the closet and dresser, and even a table/desk, allowing a spot to put all our various "stuff" at the end of the day. The bathroom is fabulous, beautifully tiled, with an ingenious shower design.
There's a very nice working kitchen, with all the necessary cooking utensils, new range/cooktop, fridge, etc. to allow for making meals – We enjoyed eating outside, overlooking the distant Mediterranean and surrounding hills.
Great light, breezes, a fabulous panorama from the villa of the Mediterranean, rambling vistas, hills, abrupt stone mountains, stone walls... magnificent views of Saint Paul de Vence from Domaine du Piol. Nice pool, and grounds -- you get a sense that you are walking around "history" here.
The villa is in a great location, convenient to supermarket, gas stations, etc. and especially to see historic art. It's very close to the galleries and shops of St. Paul de Vence (visit Cafe de la place to get into the rhythm of the area, over an espresso and baguette for breakfast). Visit Matisse's "Chapel of the Rosary", stunning in its simplicity and beauty. The Fondation Maeght, an excellent collection, with beautiful sculpture gardens and grounds. Within ½ hour are Vence, Antibes, Nice, Cannes, and all they have to offer (Picasso, Chagall, and Matisse Museums, the Modern Art museum and galleries of Nice). Thriving farmers markets, especially in Antibes and Old Town Nice; The Bay de Anglais and Promenade which fronts the Mediterranean and gorgeous beaches -- you can walk, run, rent bikes and go for miles). Visit the scenic towns of St. Jeannet, Tourrette Sur Loup, Biot, and Vallauris, to name a few. David and Sally-Anne provide an interactive "google map" of suggestions of what to do, where to eat, etc. Very helpful.
Villa Olivade was wonderful. We didn't want to leave. It was the perfect place to come back to at the end of the days sightseeing, open a bottle of wine, and relax and soak in the views and sunset.
One last thing -- the photo's the owners have posted are accurate!

"A Beautiful Mediterranean Villa"
We spent the first week of June 2012 at Olivade and could not have been happier. Besides the great weather, the Domaine du Piol development is impressive from first encounter and the grounds very well kept. It has a large swimming pool on a lower terrain level, and good views of the town of St Paul a short distance away. We even walked to St. Paul one evening. It's about 20 minutes away, some slight hills going, but all downhill back.
As for Olivade, it was perfect. The bedroom and living room are ample in size and the fully equipped kitchen more than met our needs for the nights we ate in. But the best was the patio outside, accessible through the living room or bedroom French doors. We had our breakfasts there every day and the sun rose over the roof line every morning at 8am bathing the table in warm early morning sunlight. And the view from the patio was exceptional, all the way to the Mediterranean.
The bathroom was roomy and an ingeniously designed shower stall, with movable glass walls, made the room even bigger.
The terrace below, accessible via a short flight of steps, is tranquil and surrounded by trees and plants that give it a tropical feel as well as a lot of privacy. We spent pleasant late afternoons laying on the chaise lounges, with the Western sun brilliantly warming us.
David, the owner, was also very accessible though he lives in Great Britain. We called him once for a question on the use of the cook top (called a 'hob' to the Brits) and he solved our question quickly. The interior of the house as well as the detailed PDF he supplied showed the care and attention he has lavished on it.
We would recommend Olivade without exception.

Villa Olivade absolutely met our expectations from the description and photos. It's lovely. The owner couldn't have been more helpful in supplying information and tips on where to go.
We spent a week there in May, lucky with the weather so spent hours over breakfasts and our evening bottle of wine on the balcony - just gazing at the amazing view. Lying in bed at night you can look out at this view and the lights across the valley - it's so relaxing.
The kitchen is well stocked with utensils - we did quite a bit of cooking and there was nothing we needed that wasn't there. It's a perfect base to explore the coastal towns of the Cote d'Azur and amazing scenery and hilltop villages inland.
Just 20 mins walk to St. Paul de Vence and you've got your perfect lunchtime Plat du Jour and people watching at the Cafe de la Place and we had a wonderful evening at La Colombe d'Or restaurant.
We would definitely go and stay at Villa Olivade again.

David,
We hope you're well and have managed to enjoy your amazing property in St Paul De Vence!
We just wanted to email to say thank you for allowing us to stay in such an amazing property which made for such a fantastic Honeymoon! We thing the only problem is the photos don't quite tell the whole story of how unbelievable the place is! The rose petals on the bed, the wine in the fridge and the views to the sea were just out of the world so thank you again!
We will definitely be returning again at some point but thank you again for the fantastic hospitality you have shown!

"Nice, quiet, intimate, ideal if you want a romantic getaway"

"An amazing property with outstanding views."
We stayed at Villa Olivade for 6 nights and could happily stayed longer. After seeing the photographs of the property we had high expectations and were not disappointed. This is truly a beautiful place to get away from it all and yet is close enough to local amenities and the lovely St Paul de Vence. The interior and exterior of the property were immaculate and well maintained. We particularly enjoyed using the balcony off the living room and bedroom for breakfast and in the evenings. The views and sunsets were amazing, it was a lovely way to end the day. The information provided by the owners was very useful and accurate and help make our holiday stress free. The shared swimming pool is another advantage to this property and it was always very peaceful. Overall we had an amazing holiday, being able to visit NIce, Monaco, Cannes, Villefranche, Antibes etc from an ideally located base. We recommend Juan les Pins form a lovely sandy beach. We would stay at Villa Olivade agian and recommed it to anyone looking for a beautiful location, property, great views and excellent lbase for exploring.

Hi David, just a brief note to thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful villa.
Janet and I had a fabulous week and found it really hard to leave, the villa was very much home from home and had everything you could possibly need for an extremely relaxing holiday in a stunning location. The biggest decision was which terrace to take lunch from! The big let down was of course the Rugby, I gave up at half time!
I'm sure we'll be back.
Thanks and regards.
